Salix 'Britzensis'

Salix alba ssp. vitellina Britzensis (Coral Embers Willow) has been a favorite in Europe for more than a century. This lovely selection of the White Willow stands out against the dark colors of winter with its bright orange-red stems! The bright green foliage has silvery undersides and, in many locations, turns yellow in fall. This vigorous shrub grows 4 to 5 feet in a single season, but for best winter beauty should be cut back to 12 to 15 inches in late winter. 'Britzensis' is very hardy and easy to grow in well-drained soil in full sun. It is widely tolerant of adversity, even thriving in wet soils. Fast Growing.
